The Time Molly Entered an Eating Contest for the Free Hotdog

#21 At Tuck's Winter Carnival, we entered Molly into the eating contest because she wanted a free hot dog. She ate 1 (the winning count was 7 in 5 minutes), was the only contestant to bring condiments and a diet coke to the table, and she asked if her bun could be toasted.

The Time I Learned to Salsa Dance

#21 In an effort to teach myself and the degenerates Spanish, I hosted a Spanish-only dinner. We played Te Amo 14 times, and Sergio taught me to dance. As always, we cooked way too much food.

The Time My Family Went Back in Time to a 1990s Wedding

#20 To celebrate Valentine's Day and R&J's anniversary, the extended Vierbuchen clan attended one of Veritas's 5 course wine pairing dinners. We listened to music that started with such hits as Endless Love and ended with the Electric Slide. After Mom and I danced to YMCA, we decided we'd had enough 1990s wedding music and hit the road.

The Time We Late Nighted at the Alamo

#19 To show Dr. Jones a great time our style, we had a little late night action at the Alamo, Sutton's greatest masterpiece and the newest addition to the Charlottesville repertoire. The Texan has outfitted it with a fog machine and lasers. Next thing you know, we'll get artillery shells and it'll be like we're back in the great country of Texas. I made pulled pork quesadillas for a late night snack, and we watched Arrested Development under the blanket of sexual tension. Teddy reached out the window and gave us the gift of a fresh icicle. Needless to say, after a trip to the Alamo, Teddy decided to put his Darden keychain on his keys... it's official!

The Time We Had Game Night

#18 In light of the increasingly deep snow and my inability to drive my car, Nicole and I trudged up for cookies, boxed wine, a fire, and a rousing game of Cranium at the boys house up the street. Mills was dressed like a snow cowboy and it confused everyone.

The Time We Went Tobogganing

#17 After returning from being trapped in West Virginia, the roomies all piled in Crosby's tank of a car and met up with Buck et al for some tobogganing. Above is the third run if the day, in which Robbie tried unsuccessfully to stand on the toboggan and flew off. Buck tied a rope to the back of his pick-up truck and wake boarded up the driveway. Afterwards, hot toddies and Wii sports were called for at Joels, and we kidnapped Travis and Miranda for a 20 minute walk around the corner in search of cable TV and food. Snow days are the best!

The Time We Got Trapped in West Virginia

#16 The annual Outdoors ski trip could not have fallen at a simultaneously better or worse time. While Charlottesville got pummeled with a snow storm of "historic" proportions, we were carving trails down the fresh powder on Snowshoe. The 50-person cabin lent itself to shenanigans, per usual, the best moment being Travis leading the boys team in a running-away-with-it victory chant. We ended up being snowed in an extra night, and I forced the boys to watch Sex and the City over scotch. Pretty confident that staying was the best choice, um, ever. I am increasingly appreciated being trapped places with no internet.

The Time I Learned How To Ninja Roll

#15 On our funday sunday, we played wiffle ball in the snow and Royer/Mills taught me and Crosby how to do a ninja roll! It involves rolling down ones forearm and back and popping up in a judo-chop position. Fairly easy in the snow, great way to impress members of the opposite sex. I think I was born to be a ninja.

Let the record also stand, I beat Crosby's team in snow football.
