The Time I Graduated

#42 I did it. I can't believe it's over. It was the fastest two years of my life, and yet I feel like I accomplished more in those two years than I did in the previous five. I am so lucky I decided to take the step to getting an MBA... it took me to eight different countries and ten states, gave me a shot at journalism (ok, more like the Onion than the New York Times), let me be an actress with a husband who wears squirrel ears, taught me about wine and gardening and hard work and excel and golf, and introduced me to lifelong friends. So, barring any further attacks against my right to free speech, it looks like I've graduated.

Now what?

No... seriously.

The Time B Chair-Rodeoed at Beach Week

#41 Caution: This might be the greatest video of all time.

That is all.

The Time I Took Texas to Boston

#40 The Texan accompanied me to the B-W wedding. He said he was pleasantly surprised with how not awful the people at the H-bomb were. Thanks. We ate Felipes and went to the Kong and had Noch's pizza and walked along the Charles. We visited a few of the finals clubs, and he was immediately drawn to the evidence that these men also hunt and kill things and hang them up. All-in-all, it was a successful meeting between the country of Texas and the country of Boston.

The Time We Had Boot Day

#39 The Horse and Hound has a contest in which people drink progressively bigger boots of beer in order to qualify for a) your name on a glass boot that you can keep and b) lifelong glory. I didn't get very far but needless to say some of my companions did over the course of our last quarter of Darden. Before May 2010, only 4 people had completed the boot contest in all of Horse and Hounds' history. In the first week of May, that number went to fifteen. So, to everyone out there, reach for the stars. Someday you too could have your name on a glass boot.

The Time We Went to Bacova Fest 2010

#38 BacovaFest is a time-honored holiday weekend for the Haynes family. They throw tarps on a lawn, cover them with soap and water, and request the presence of no less than 75 twenty-somethings to race themselves down it. You get slip and sliding at such high speeds that you actually have to roll for 30+ feet afterwards in the grass just to slow yourself down. I exited with several injuries. There are kegs (9), two Blue Moon, seven Coors Light (apparently the Haynes family is sponsored by Coors Light) and no less than 5 Pong Tables (Dartmouth rules). If you try to play rap music, you will be peer pressured into leaving the room. There are t-shirts available if you so desire. The dogs are also quite friendly and like snuggling and/or sitting on couches (see above). The horses are also friendly if they can get past the Jack Russell that chases them incessantly.
