I published this classic photo to illustrate that little has changed between me and my sister since we were 5 and 3. Even with a bum hand, she is judging me.

Spoke with Bailey for a while today about how much we love grad school. While I'll be at a 36 hour Cinco de Mayo extravaganza, here's a little taste of what she'll be doing:

Bailey: oh! i got a new betta fish
his name is santa anna
my roommate katy got one named davy crockett
we're going to build an alamo facade between their bowls
for our cinco de mayo party that's tonight
Catherine: umm, amazing. i have a 36 hour party... we're camping and cooking and shenaniganing
i believe the host has procured 15 dozen eggs and a clown pinata?
Bailey: oh WOW i am jealous
though i'm going to a crawfish boil today and my friends bought 340lbs of crawfish
i'm scared
AND i'm entered in a "caucasian off"
in which my friends jon and tim have been competing all year and i'm allowed to enter the finals today because i unintentionally won a couple of weeks ago
they don't know about my harvard equestrian jacket or i'm guessing they wouldn't even bother showing up
Catherine: it's like they don't even know the weapons you bring to that table
Bailey: ok i'm going to go hang some chili lights from my ceiling
life is hard

I love grad school.

Wow wow wow and wow. First Foxfield experience was a great one. Started at Tom and Kim's for a pre-game of bagels, mimosas, and bloody mary's. We then took pictures to highlight the absurdly pastel appearance of our rag-tag group. "Chuckles," as my dad referred to Bruce on the right, did eventually lighten up and have fun. He also is the boss... but whatever. Miles left: 731

I love this shot of Anna, and even though it was taken on Easter, I thought I would put it up in a tribute to the fact that this week marks her 24th birthday. Happy Birthday, Anna! Miles left: 747

Second birthday dinner, this time at Oyamel in DC. Other than that, slept for about eleventy billion hours and made myself go for a run to get rid of the cankles I'd developed on the plane. Yay for 7 days straight of red meat. At least I'm not anemic. Miles left: 821

I thought this picture aptly captured the dynamics of my childhood. It is up to the reader to decide who is Catherine and who is Anna. Miles left: 921.5

The core four enjoyed a fabulous pre-inauguration dinner at Panache (tapas place). Anna overpacked. The Mayflower was packed but we managed to find a few of Mom's coworkers. Early to bed to prepare for early to rise. Miles left: whateves.

Packed to get ready to go back to school and went to trivia night with Anna and her friends and Fareed. I contributed one or two questions and came home with a cup for winning second place. Great end to the night: watching South Park with Anna before I leave tomorrow. Guinesses consumed: 1. Questions referring to Guinness: 1. Miles left: 980.5.

Trivia night at Fado's in DC! Anna brought a ringer - he was British, so obviously we trusted everything he said - and I contributed nothing except ordering the wrong kind of fries. Guinnesses consumed: 1. References to weed: 2. Miles left: 993.5
